Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. All of our current and planned apparel have genuine eco credentials. Our manufacturing partner recently won the LEAN Performance Improvement Award from the South African Department of Trade and Industry and the Cape Clothing and Textile Cluster.
RPET requires 70% less energy than virgin fibre production; and 90% less water when manufacturing recycled polyester versus traditional polyester fabrics.
Our puffers use 100% recycled fibres from post-consumer plastic bottle waste. The insulated filling is water-resistant and will still provide warmth should it get wet. It is also hypoallergenic and dries in a fraction of the time compared to traditional down.
Synthetic insulation garments are easier to care for, are engineered to be machine washable and with great flexibility and soft hand feel, provide excellent comfort when used in our high-end technical garments.
Our sustainability commitment in the BCI [Better Cotton Initiative] and Organic Cotton supplier journey includes our partner's strong management infra-structures, with membership of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC Full member) as well as ZDHC membership for governance of sustainable dyestuffs, chemicals, effluents management and control.
80% of a product’s environmental impact can be controlled at the design stage. Our designers’ mission is to design products with the optimum sustainability content. These include raw materials, accessories, manufacturing processes and washing processes – all contributing to a built-to-last mantra using only the best production methods globally available.
We are taking steps in all aspects of our organization and those of our manufacturing partners to decrease our footprint and increase our positive impact. We also contribute a sizeable percentage of proceeds towards various WWF projects world-wide.
